Attention Canadian netbook shoppers! There is an important factor when deciding which netbook to buy. Since most netbooks are very similar from a speed perspective, the big difference between netbooks is with the keyboard. But as a Canadian you are faced with a dilemna which few people actually realize. When you go to a Canadian computer store, check out their netbooks and laptops. In particular look at the enter key. Is it an upside down L shape? Most often that is what you find in Canada. This means a problem for smaller laptops and netbooks. The upside down L enter key indicated an English/French keyboard which has a couple added keys. So a small keyboard just got a bit smaller without you even knowing it! You know all those reviews you read, the videos you watch and the photos you look at with the various netbooks? Yes, those most likely are the English only version of the keyboards. Those are the models that the reviewers are commenting on. The EN/FR keyboards have the strange Enter key, but they also have smaller shift keys. Yes, the two most commonly used keys on the keyboard shrink! It's an important consideration when shopping in Canada. It's a fact that most people don't know about. Trust me, it's very important especially on netbooks. Acer and Toshiba are quite strict about having only EN/FR keyboards on their laptops and netbooks in Canada. Asus Eee PC is the one brand in Canada that you can find the English only version keyboard. That should weigh heavily into you decision on which brand and model netbook you are ordering.
