January 2012 Update: Bad news if you're looking and hoping for Dell netbooks in 2012. Dell has officially announced that they will not release any new Dell Mini netbooks. Sad news indeed. It would appear that Dell is getting out of mobile devices including tablets. They were never all in on netbooks and they must have lost faith. It will be interesting to see what happens in 2012 if netbook come back in popularity. Will Dell re-enter the netbook space? They might. We expect 2012 to be the biggest leap forward for netbooks and it's too bad that Dell chose not to participate. You can read the story where Dell confirms they are out of the netbook business here. It's hard to beat a Dell computer. Best service, best selection, best reliability. Dell netbook computers are no different. They are marketing these as fun, portable, web focused computers. Currently Dell has a solid netbook offering and most times you will find it at the top of the netbook best sellers listings. The latest Dell netbook is named the Dell Mini 10 or Dell Inspiron Mini 10. There are essentially two different Dell netbook models. The basic Dell netbook is the Dell Inspiron Mini 1018. Visit the official Dell Netbook website! Don't be confused about the Dell Mini 10 and the Dell Mini 10v. The Mini 10v netbook is a slighter cheaper netbook which has less hard drive space and some other limitations. With fun in mind, the Dell netbook comes in a wide range of colors. They have quite a lot of different options that you can get. So, things like bigger battery, more ram and even built in GPS are available for Dell netbooks. So essentially, you have 4 different Dell netbook mini products to choose from. You can get one with integrated GPS (extra cost), you can get one with a built in HD tv tuner (extra cost), you can get the two lower end models without the extra frills. It does get slightly confusing when you look at the lower end model and what differentiates the two. Very slight differences between the 10v and 10 mini netbooks from Dell. More info on that later! The Dell netbook comes in 2 varieties. They currently sell the Mini 10v and Mini 10. On the Dell homepage they refer to the netbook as "mini netbooks". Seems a bit redundant to me, but that's all fine I suppose. So, these netbooks are called, Dell mini's, Dell mini netbooks, Dell mini 10, etc. Lot's of different names, but don't be confused!
