April 29, 2011 - Another day, another Google netbook rumor. It seems the Google Chrome OS bug reports are mentioning these upcoming Chrome netbook models. So there is some truth to what you're hearing.

Samsung Alex Google Netbook - 1.5GHz dual-core Atom N550, SanDisk SSD, 2GB RAM, 1280 x 800 display and coming with the assorted goodies that are typical with netbooks. (will update as news is released)

April 28, 2011 - It looks like a Google netbook, which is another name for Chrome netbook featuring the upcoming Google Chrome OS. Then end result of a Google netbook is a cheap price and most likely a big reliance on cloud computing. I feel the pricing of the Google netbook computers could be quite shocking.

Just this week there are reports that Acer with come out with the first Google netbook. It's not surprising as Acer has been often rumored to be coming out with a chrome os netbook for months now. It looks to be happening around or after the summer of 2011.

Here is what we know about this Acer Google netbook: Atom processor, 1366 x 668 display and shipping date is expected to be by the summer of 2011. Samsung looks also to be readying a Google netbook which will likely launch around the same time.

November 1, 2010 - It would appear, based on strong rumors, that Google is in fact going to release their very own Google netbook. This news or rumor is based on the recent postings about Chrome OS being ready by the end of November. If rumor proves true, hopefully the Google netbook will make a bigger splash that their smartphone!

A Google netbook is a netbook that features the Google Chrome operating system or Google Chrome OS for short. This OS is open source which means it's a lot different than the popular Microsoft operating system. The biggest difference with the Google netbook is in price. See, a big part of a netbook cost is the operating system. Since most netbooks come with Microsoft Windows, a big part of your cost as the consumer is paying for the Microsoft OS. In the case of a Google netbook, there is no charge to you basically. You will likely just be paying for the hardware costs. No firm Google netbook prices yet, but we will have them when they start to become available.

You've come to the right place for cheap Google netbooks. Wait a sec! How can we make this claim? Sure we realize that Google netbooks won't be hitting store shelves until 2010, but we're very excited! We do know cheap Google netbooks is going to happen. The Chrome OS guarantees cheap netbooks. So, if you are going to buy a Google netbooks computer, you will save money.

We will bring you Google netbooks photos and images so you can see what you're going to buy. There will be lots of new juicy content coming in the weeks ahead! Google are the giants remember and they can create a buzz with many videos and pictures of their wonderful Chrome OS. As mentioned by Google, the Google netbooks will be focused on speed, simplicity and security. Google Chrome Netbook!

Update August 2010 - Google CEO Eric Schmidt has recently discussed their plans for Google Chrome OS on netbooks. The plan is to have a Google Chrome netbook come to market in late 2010. This is great news. Expect to see the prices of netbooks to be even cheaper once Chrome OS netbooks hit the market! One thing to note is that Google is saying these are cloud based netbooks so there will be no local storage. Interesting. Will that mean the Google netbook will be a niche product? It might be confusing for consumers to buy a netbook and then find out there is no local storage!

Big news for the netbook world! Google announces their Chrome OS geared toward the netbook market! Think about it, this is huge news. Google Chrome netbook = happy customer. We will keep you posted on the important stuff like how much will a Google Chrome netbook cost? What does Google Chrome OS look like? We will answer all your questions! This is a brand new annoucement, so expect lots of resources in the coming weeks and months! Google Chrome OS vs. Microsoft Windows. This should be juicy!

As consumers, the Google Chrome netbook will save us all money. Why? Well Microsoft has to do something to compete now. The price difference between a Google Chrome OS netbook vs. Windows netbook computers will be massive. This should be an interesting time as Microsoft has to come up with a plan to compete. I think most people want a cheap netbook. Google Chrome gives us all that in addition to adding some competition to the marketplace. Trust me, competition is great for us the consumer. Chrome Netbook!

Is this the start of another netbook revolution? Announced July 9, 2009 by Google, the Chrome netbook will revoutionize the netbook industry. The Chrome OS will rival Microsoft. Well that's if you read and believe all the press clippings. One fact is for sure, Google can do no wrong. They are leaders and are constantly pushing the boundaries on what is possible in terms of technology.

I think the Chrome netbook will be the dawn of a new era. A netbook with the Chrome OS will be fast and it will be cheap. These two points will be a big reason why Microsoft should be nervous. We all want cheap when it comes to buying computers and moreso when we are shopping netbook computers. Why pay more? If it turns out that Chrome OS becomes heavily supported and developed, I see no reason why the Chrome netbook can't take over the netbook market. Microsoft needs a gameplan that involves lowering their costs or prices because there is a new sheriff in town. That sheriff is the Chrome netbook by Google. It's a win win for consumers. Regardless of how this turns out, we will find netbooks for cheap. That's what's really important right?

What netbook manufacturers are working with Chrome OS and Google? So far the list includes Acer, Asus, Toshiba, Adobe, HP, Lenovo and others which haven't been announced officially. So, expect an Acer Aspire One Chrome netbook, Asus Eee PC Chrome netbook among others.

Why is Chrome OS the saviour of the netbook?

Considering Chrome is Google's operating system should say something. Chrome is going to be a light weight OS that is meant for web based applications. With that said, Google now has a vested interest on the success and long-term life of netbook computers and technology. With a giant like Google breaking into the OS battle with Microsoft, things are going to be interesting.

The greater market share that Chrome captures, the greater success of netbooks. Of course with Chrome being open souce, ie. free, people will be impressed with the cost of a Chrome netbook. The Microsoft 7 operating system really ties the hands of the manufacturers in how much they must charge for their netbooks. You most times aren't paying for labour or parts, but mainly you are paying for the Microsoft operating system. The privilage of having MS OS comes at a fairly high price.
